Tannochbrae

Tannochbrae is a fictional small railway station based in the western highlands of Scotland during the 1980’s. The original reason for the station was to service the scotch distillery which is situated on the shore of the local loch. The actual town is down the road away from the station (there are a number of examples where the station is distant from the town that it now serves in Scotland).

Overlooking the loch is the local laird’s castle, which is still occupied by the laird, and whose bagpipe playing can be occasionally heard.

Also keep an eye on the loch. It has been reported that a relation to Nessie has been seen, although sightings cannot be confirmed.

The layout has been built to show how easy it is to have an operating layout using set track and a little imagination. All track is Tomix set track, with slip points, allowing the trains to cross at the station without the need to actually change the points. It is DCC controlled.

Tannochbrae was built in 2021 and was first displayed at the 2022 Forestville Exhibition.
